Breaking a franchise single-game record for home runs, Hutchinson Monarchs infielder Taylor Barber was named the Star Lumber/Sunflower Colleguate League this week.
Barber hit three home runs and drove in seven in a come-from-behind 15-14 win last Saturday at Matson Field in Salina.
In four games last week, Barber, the third-year Monarch from Argyle, Texas and UT-San Antonio, hit .417 (5 for 12) with four homers, a double, 10 RBIs and five runs scored. He had a slugging percentage of 1.500 and on-base percentage of .650.
Barber also homered one night earlier in a victory over the Wichita Sluggers at Hobart-Detter Field.
