Nickerson Native Mace Krol, a senior at Fort Hays State, has been named a student athlete of the week in the MIAA Conference. 

Krol, the son of Nickerson baseball coach Rich Krol and brother of Hutchinson coach Adam Krol, is hitting .526 with 10 RBI for the Tigers, who won four of five games the week of April 6.  He had a grand-slam homer last week in a victory over Nebraska-Kearney on April 17, 2012.  

Krol will played with the Hutchinson Monarchs summer 2011.
